St Martin-in-the-Fields

The beautiful and historic St Martin-in-the-Fields on Trafalgar Square was designed by architect James Gibbs in 1726. A recent refurbishment has restored the church inside and out to its original 18th century splendour as well as creating new spaces and improving accessibility. This royal parish church has 20 church services per week as well as a long standing music tradition including the founding of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields in 1958. Evening and free lunchtime concerts take place throughout the week. The award-winning Café in the Crypt and the London Brass Rubbing Centre and Shop also provide a welcome escape for Londoners and visitors alike.
